Rucker C. Johnson is Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy in the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.

His work considers the role of poverty and inequality in affecting life chances. His graduate and postdoctoral training is in labor and health economics. He holds a B.A. from Morehouse College, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan—all in economics.
