Philip Cohen is a professor of sociology and a demographer at the University of Maryland, College Park. The focus of his research and teaching concern the sociology of families, social demography, and social inequality.
He writes about demographic trends, family structure, the division of labor, health disparities, and open science. He holds a B.A. in American culture from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in sociology from the University of Massachusetts, and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Maryland.
