Elizabeth Palley

Elizabeth Palley is a professor in the School of Social Work at Adelphi University, where she directs the doctoral program. She studies and writes about policies that affect children with the aim of gathering information that can be used to improve the lives of young children, including education, health, and child care policies.

Her work has appeared in The Hill, Real Clear Politics, Fox News Online, CNN Financial News, City Limits, and the Indypendent, and she was interviewed by Brian Lehrer on WNYC radio. She is also the co-author, with Corey Shdaimah, of In Our Hands: The Struggle for US Child Care Policy (NYU, 2014).

Palley received her M.S.W. and J.D. at the University of Maryland in Baltimore and her Ph.D. in social welfare policy from Brandeis University, as well as her undergraduate degree in psychology from Oberlin College.
