Jonathan Fisher
Former Interim Chief Economist and Research Advisor
Washington Center for Equitable Growth
Jonathan Fisher is the former interim chief economist and research advisor at the Washington Center for Equitable Growth. His areas of research include inequality, mobility, and personal bankruptcy.
Prior to Equitable Growth, Fisher was at the Stanford University Center on Poverty and Inequality, where he was a research scholar and a senior researcher on the American Opportunity Study.
He has also worked at the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
A twice-awarded grantee of Equitable Growth, Fisher’s research has been published in the Review of Income and Wealth, Labour, the Journal of Macroeconomics, Contemporary Economic Policy, and elsewhere. He received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Kentucky and a B.A. from Alma College.
