Jasmine Hill

Jasmine Hill is an assistant professor of public policy and sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a sociologist whose scholarship focuses on racial inequality and social mobility for Black Americans.
Her current work explores the mechanisms that lift communities of color out of poverty and the ramifications of upward mobility for Black families.
Because of her expertise on matters related to race, inequality, and the labor market, Hill is regularly called to design and evaluate anti-racism initiatives with organizations like the Annenberg Foundation, Blue Shield of California Foundation, University of California Students Association, and numerous corporate partners like Soylent, Dollar Shave Club, and PocketWatch.
She holds a B.A. in communication studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from Stanford University.
