Daron Acemoglu (opens in a new tab) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology presented his views on how economic and political institutions shape technology’s role in work, as well as insights from his forthcoming book with co-author Simon Johnson, Power and Progress: Our Thousand-Year Struggle Over Technology and Prosperity. His presentation was followed by a conversation on the most pressing questions around inequality, worker power, and shaping the future of technological change for researchers, policymakers, and advocates to address.
