Our Mission
The Washington Center for Equitable Growth is a non-profit research and grantmaking organization dedicated to advancing evidence-backed ideas and policies that promote strong, stable, and broad-based economic growth.

Our Vision
We envision a U.S. economy where prosperity is broadly shared, workers and families have stability and opportunity, and policy decisions are grounded in rigorous research and real-world insight.

About Us
The Washington Center for Equitable Growth is a nonprofit, nonpartisan economic policy organization that connects economic evidence and policy to promote shared prosperity and growth. We do this by funding policy-relevant research, elevating scholars and their work within the policy world, and translating evidence for policymakers.
Founded in 2013, Equitable Growth has also seeded more than $12.7 million to more than 400 scholars in the United States through its competitive grants program.
Our Values
Belonging, Equity, Inclusion
We strive to create community in ways that value and respect each other's humanity and the diversity of lived experience while welcoming dialogue across viewpoints and positions to ensure that all can contribute authentically.
Collaboration
We work together internally and within the broader economic policy ecosystem to produce a common vision for the future.
Credibility
We approach our work with integrity, transparency, and rigor and hold ourselves accountable to elevate evidence to shape policy outcomes.
Innovation
We are nimble and take bold action, seeking continuous improvement and learning to think and act in new ways.
Pragmatism
We build bridges internally and externally to seize opportunities and create wins toward our goals in ways that are aligned with our values.
Our Team
This work is supported by leadership, staff, and advisors who help guide research, strengthen partnerships, and ensure evidence reaches decision-makers.
Meet Our Team ›A National Network of Experts
For more than a decade, the Washington Center for Equitable Growth has supported scholars across U.S. universities to produce research that informs policy decisions. Our network of more than 400 academics includes both established experts and emerging researchers from a wide range of disciplines and institutions.
Through dedicated programming and policy engagement, we prepare scholars to connect their work to real-world decision-making. With expertise spanning AI, social insurance, taxes, wages, child care, and broader economic trends, this network serves as a critical resource for understanding the economy and shaping effective policy solutions.
