Danny Yagan is chief economist at the Office of Management and Budget.
During his government service, he will be on leave from his positions as assistant professor of economics at the University of California, Berkeley, faculty research fellow of the National Bureau of Economic Research, faculty associate of the Berkeley Burch Center for Tax Policy and Public Finance, and faculty co-director of the Taxation and Inequality Initiative of the Berkeley Opportunity Lab.
In 2018, Yagan was awarded a Sloan Foundation Research Fellowship in recognition of early-career achievement.
In addition to receiving a grant from Equitable Growth, his work has been supported by the Sloan Foundation, Arnold Foundation, and centers at the University of California, Berkeley, Harvard University, Rutgers University, and the University of California, Davis. He holds a B.A. and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
