Javier Cravino is an associate professor of economics at the University of Michigan and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research focuses on pricing frictions and income inequality in the global economy.

His research has been funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation and has been published in leading academic journals, including American Economic Review, American Economic Journal, Macroeconomics, Journal of Monetary Economics, and Quarterly Journal of Economics.

He has been a research visitor and a consultant for the Federal Reserve Board, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
